How We Use AI

Last updated 2026-09-26 · About 4 min read

AI works as the editor of your diary. The writer is always you.

1. What AI does

Drafts two or three lines from a photo, a voice note, or a short note. Finds "somedays" in your entries and proposes them as threads. Writes the monthly recap and its opening line. Suggests chapters for your timeline. Translates entries. Reads aloud a sentence you choose.

2. What AI does not do

Save or publish anything on your behalf. Score your feelings or mood. Estimate your condition. Act as a character that talks with you. Write encouragement, advice, evaluations, or opinions.

3. What is sent

Saved entries are encrypted and cannot be read by us or by AI. Only while AI is working is the part it needs sent over an encrypted connection.

One-minute draft: the photo, voice, or note. Monthly recap: this month's entries. Chapter suggestions: timeline headings and monthly summaries (never entry text). Ask your story: your question and up to 20 related entries. Second-language mode: that day's entry. AI voice: the one sentence you chose.

Nothing is stored on the AI side afterward, and nothing is used for training. Questions and answers are not stored either.

4. Labels

Everything AI produces carries a label such as "AI draft" or "AI voice". Entries you have reviewed and saved are marked as reviewed.

5. Safety

If content suggests self-harm, AI does not produce a draft and the app shows contacts for people who will listen. You can still write and save in your own words. Nothing detected is stored or counted. This is a safety check, not a diagnosis.
